I have been riding dual-sport motorcycles for over 9 years. It all started with my 1993 Suzuki DR 250. From day one I was hooked. I would ride anywhere and everywhere I could on that great bike. My wife Sara even enjoyed riding with me on that little bike. We road all over the Chicago area and then all over the San Francisco Bay Area on that great DR bike. I eventually moved up to a used 2002 BMW 1150 GS and a whole new world was opened to me, the wonderful world of adventure motorcycle touring. A few trips to the desert in Nevada sealed the deal. So much so that I purchased a new 2006 1200 GSA and sold the '02 1150 GS. While riding and farkling (accessorizing) my GS's I encountered a problem. I needed to get a reliable and affordable tire inflation pump. I needed to be prepared for any tire problems I encountered out on the road. I searched the market but unfortunately did not find many options. Some pumps were nice but they cost $100 plus and this was just too much to spend on a 12-volt pump. I found cheap inflators that were inexpensive but I didn’t like the large size and the cheap plastic enclosures. I saw the need for an affordable, extremely compact, and reliable 12-volt tire pump.
My brother Karsten and I tested dozens of tire inflators and did not stop until we found and improved a high quality compact pump. After 6 months of research and development we had the first Micro Tire Pump Kit! We are proud of what we came up with. It is a great balance of size, function, and power. Our pump is more powerful than most compact and medium size pumps on the market. Our customers find it just as powerful as pumps that cost twice as much. While researching for the Micro Pump Tire Kits, I also noticed a shortage of quality motorcycle touring accessories and tools. Quality products at good prices were not easy to find. I knew there had to be a better way. I set out to create a better accessory source and began hand picking and testing many motorcycle touring accessory products.
